Ms. Cook is a well known consultant and legislative specialist who manages her own government affairs business. Kim is regularly sought out to advise on challenging issues within Maine's business community. A native of Massachusetts, Kim spent several years in Colorado, where she served as a legislative aide to a Denver City Councilor and campaign manager for a prominent Colorado State Representative. Kim serves on the Public Policy and Legislative Affairs Committee of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce. She recently completed a 3-year term on the Portland Land Bank Commission, which seeks to preserve open space and promote passive recreational opportunities within the City of Portland and previously served as a member of Portland's Zoning Board of Appeals. Skip is an advisor to Devine Strategies, and has been an active and influential member of the New England business community for the past 25 years, having played a major role in the concept development, oversight and realization of many significant economic development and community service projects. As past chairman of the Manchester Development Corporation, Skip was a driving force in the creation of the Verizon Wireless Arena.
He also helped bring to fruition The Residences at Manchester Place, a 204-unit luxury high rise in the heart of the city of Manchester and a centerpiece of the revitalization of that city. A past recipient of the prestigious "Citizen of the Year" award given by the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Skip is one of the most recognizable business leaders in southern New Hampshire. As a member of the Devine Strategies team, Skip uses his relationships and substantial knowledge of the real estate and economic development process regionally to tailor creative solutions for clients, helping them achieve their business and community goals.
